Its spring here at River Road Farm and the ball is rolling! Seed are started, soil blocks filled and our high tunnel is packed with all sorts of new life. And speaking of new, we have a new farmer on the block this year...ME! With Farmer Todd working part time at Northland College ( on their super cool new Food Systems Center) It was decided I would be the new "on Farm" owner......Thank goodness we have a very skilled employees back again this year (Chris Corrigan) as I still consider myself "in Training". As part of my new role I wanted to do some new things this year on the farm. The biggest of which is the addition of Family Farm Days. If you haven't seen our line up or signed up for one of our monthly, Saturday morning, family days on the farm check it out Here. Our first family Day is May 13th, and we have a couple spots still open! I am also excited to be adding this space...our own little blog to post about our season, share our journey and delight in all the fun this season has to bring. (don't you love how optimistic I am!... newbie) here's some shots from my first week!
